Shady Grove Cemetery is located 10 miles East of Crockett, Houston County, Texas
on Highway 287 South. It was originally called Satterwhite Cemetery. I have a picture of the sign when it read
"Satterwhite Cemetery". A link to that picture is on this page. I don't know, first-hand, the history of the cemetery, but I
do know that Martha Emeline Satterwhite was first to be buried there. You can see her marker on your visit here.
